Casino Technical Systems Testing (TST)

Technical Systems Testing (TST) is an independent, accredited and internationally recognized testing body that tests both traditional casino gaming operations and online gaming operations. It was founded in Australia in 1993 and has offices in Vancouver, London and Macau.

TST has the task of verifying and certifying that online gaming operations are honest, safe and controllable. It also certifies that gaming operations comply with industry laws and meet the requirements imposed by licensing laws. The certificates issued by the TST are accepted by all software suppliers, licensees, online casino operators and by the entire community of players on the internet.

When it comes to online gaming, two aspects of TST auditing are very important. One is the test of the Random Number Generator or RNG (the random number generator). In online casino games, the results must be quite unpredictable. For example, in roulette, players need not be able to predict the next number. But with a very large number of spins, each number must be called with roughly the same frequency. In online roulette, this happens thanks to the RNG which uses a complex algorithm to generate random numbers. These are associated with the numbers on the roulette wheel. The same is true for other online casino games. If the random numbers generated by the RNG are correct and unpredictable, the numbers on the roulette wheel or the cards dealt in blackjack or the dice thrown in craps will be correct and unpredictable. TST evaluates both the result before

The other critical aspect of the TST evaluation concerns games. Games are first evaluated based on the correctness of the source code, graphics, functionality and some specific aspects of the game. But even more important are the payout calculations that are performed periodically, using real-time data generated in traditional online casino gaming operations. The average win percentage is the amount paid by the online casino for every $ 100 wagered. This figure is calculated over the period set for each game group and in all games. TST reports these results through a certificate which is then made public by the casino operator. Players can then compare the actual winnings offered and decide whether to play in that casino or not.

After the online casino software is tested by TST, all stakeholders are given guarantees on the accuracy and credibility of the results thanks to TST’s experience and its independent nature. It is easier for licensees to license operations that have been tested by TST, for software vendors it will be easier to find customers if their software has been tested by TST, and for online casino operators it will be easier to have the traffic if their operations have been verified by TST.
